an english palace with indian-muslim exterior and pseudo-chinese interior
the 21 y/o playboy prince-regent (who later became george iv) came to this seaside town in 1783, fell in love with the sun, sea and s?? here (what has changed ?)... built a pseudo-oriental palace, installed a local girl as mistress of the house (and all other respects of the term), and helf lots of lavish party here...the palace was rebuilt and refurbished several times, and was also a favourite of the next king, william iv...until their niece, victoria, the all family-oriented queen, decided that the town was too crowded and the palace too sinful (victorian values ?), decided to sell it to the town council...
